Peer Review and Open Access
Peer Review and Open Access
Initial Editorial Assessment
Every submission to Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Agricultural and Plant Sciences undergoes an initial editorial assessment. Editors consider the manuscript's relevance to the journal, scholarly quality, originality, ethical compliance, presentation and readiness for external review. Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet minimum scholarly and ethical standards may be declined without external review.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass initial screening proceed to a double-blind peer-review process. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another during review to support independent and impartial scholarly assessment.
Reviewers are expected to evaluate the manuscript's originality, methodological or analytical soundness, use of relevant literature, clarity of presentation, validity of results or arguments, significance of the contribution and suitability for publication.
Editorial Decisions
Following review, the editorial decision may include acceptance, revision, resubmission for further assessment or rejection. Where revisions are requested, authors should respond carefully to reviewer and editor comments and identify the changes made to the manuscript. The final publication decision remains the responsibility of the journal's editors.
Reviewer Confidentiality and Conflicts
Review materials must be treated as confidential. Reviewers should not use unpublished information for personal advantage and should decline an assignment where a conflict of interest could compromise objective assessment.
Open-Access Policy
PAJRI provides immediate open access to published articles. Readers can access published research without subscription barriers, supporting wider dissemination, scholarly exchange, teaching, professional practice and public access to research.
Open access does not reduce editorial or peer-review standards. All accepted manuscripts must satisfy the journal's scholarly, ethical and production requirements before publication.
