Article Types

Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies accepts scholarly manuscripts that make a clear, original and relevant contribution to its field. The journal's principal article categories include:

• Original Research Articles: Empirical qualitative, quantitative or mixed-method studies that advance understanding of society, institutions and human behaviour.
• Review Articles: Critical syntheses of social-science and behavioural literature that identify theoretical, methodological or policy gaps.
• Policy Analyses: Evidence-informed analyses of public policy, governance, institutions, programmes and development interventions.
• Case Studies: Context-rich investigations of communities, organisations, institutions, programmes, events or social processes.
• Theoretical Papers: Conceptual contributions that develop, refine or critically examine theories, models and analytical frameworks.

General Expectations

Regardless of article type, submissions should have a clearly defined purpose, appropriate engagement with relevant scholarship, a transparent method or analytical framework, coherent presentation and conclusions that follow from the evidence or argument.

Authors should select the article type that best reflects the nature of their manuscript. The editorial team may recommend reclassification where another category better represents the submitted work.

Language and Presentation

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines. Tables, figures, data, quotations and supplementary materials should be relevant, accurately presented and properly acknowledged.
