Article Types

Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Medical, Health and Clinical Sciences accepts scholarly manuscripts that make a clear, original and relevant contribution to its field. The journal's principal article categories include:

• Original Research Articles: Clinical, biomedical, epidemiological, public-health or health-systems studies reporting original data and clearly defined methods.
• Clinical Research: Patient-centred or practice-based studies addressing diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, care delivery or clinical decision-making.
• Systematic and Narrative Reviews: Evidence syntheses that critically evaluate existing literature and clarify the state of knowledge in a health-related field.
• Case Reports: Educational and clinically significant reports of unusual presentations, interventions, outcomes or diagnostic challenges, with appropriate consent where required.
• Public Health and Policy Studies: Research on population health, prevention, health systems, programmes, policy, implementation and community health.

General Expectations

Regardless of article type, submissions should have a clearly defined purpose, appropriate engagement with relevant scholarship, a transparent method or analytical framework, coherent presentation and conclusions that follow from the evidence or argument.

Authors should select the article type that best reflects the nature of their manuscript. The editorial team may recommend reclassification where another category better represents the submitted work.

Language and Presentation

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines. Tables, figures, data, quotations and supplementary materials should be relevant, accurately presented and properly acknowledged.
