Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Law, Policy and Development accepts scholarly manuscripts that make a clear, original and relevant contribution to its field. The journal's principal article categories include:

• Doctrinal Legal Articles: Research based on systematic analysis of legislation, case law, constitutional provisions, treaties, legal principles and authoritative legal sources.
• Empirical Legal Research: Qualitative, quantitative or mixed-method studies examining how law, institutions and justice systems operate in practice.
• Case Notes: Focused and critical analyses of significant judicial decisions and their doctrinal, policy or developmental implications.
• Policy Analyses: Evidence-informed examinations of legislation, regulation, governance choices and public-policy interventions.
• Comparative Legal Studies: Studies comparing legal rules, institutions, jurisprudence or policy approaches across jurisdictions.

General Expectations

Regardless of article type, submissions should have a clearly defined purpose, appropriate engagement with relevant scholarship, a transparent method or analytical framework, coherent presentation and conclusions that follow from the evidence or argument.

Authors should select the article type that best reflects the nature of their manuscript. The editorial team may recommend reclassification where another category better represents the submitted work.

Language and Presentation

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines. Tables, figures, data, quotations and supplementary materials should be relevant, accurately presented and properly acknowledged.
