Article Types

Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Environmental and Earth Sciences and Geosciences accepts scholarly manuscripts that make a clear, original and relevant contribution to its field. The journal's principal article categories include:

• Original Research Articles: Empirical, field, laboratory, modelling or geospatial studies contributing new environmental or geoscientific knowledge.
• Review Articles: Critical syntheses of environmental, earth-science, geospatial or geoscience research and emerging challenges.
• Geospatial Studies: Research using GIS, remote sensing, spatial statistics, geocomputation or related geospatial methods.
• Environmental Assessments: Evidence-based assessments of environmental conditions, impacts, hazards, resources, climate risks or management interventions.
• Technical and Methodological Papers: Studies developing or validating methods, models, monitoring approaches, instruments or analytical workflows.

General Expectations

Regardless of article type, submissions should have a clearly defined purpose, appropriate engagement with relevant scholarship, a transparent method or analytical framework, coherent presentation and conclusions that follow from the evidence or argument.

Authors should select the article type that best reflects the nature of their manuscript. The editorial team may recommend reclassification where another category better represents the submitted work.

Language and Presentation

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines. Tables, figures, data, quotations and supplementary materials should be relevant, accurately presented and properly acknowledged.
