Article Types

Pan-African Journal of Research and Innovation in Arts, Humanities and Philosophy accepts scholarly manuscripts that make a clear, original and relevant contribution to its field. The journal's principal article categories include:

• Original Research Articles: Scholarly studies presenting original arguments, interpretations, archival findings or critical analyses in the arts and humanities.
• Critical Essays: Rigorous interpretive or theoretical essays engaging texts, ideas, cultural works, artistic practices or intellectual traditions.
• Review Articles: Substantive reviews that synthesise and critically assess a body of humanities scholarship or an emerging field.
• Historical Studies: Research based on archival, documentary, oral, material or other historical evidence.
• Philosophical Papers: Analytical, normative or comparative work addressing philosophical questions, arguments, concepts or traditions.

General Expectations

Regardless of article type, submissions should have a clearly defined purpose, appropriate engagement with relevant scholarship, a transparent method or analytical framework, coherent presentation and conclusions that follow from the evidence or argument.

Authors should select the article type that best reflects the nature of their manuscript. The editorial team may recommend reclassification where another category better represents the submitted work.

Language and Presentation

Manuscripts should be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal's author guidelines. Tables, figures, data, quotations and supplementary materials should be relevant, accurately presented and properly acknowledged.
